A plant production facility was established in Bodrum with an investment of 10 million lira. Turkey’s first herbal medicine factory received orders 5 times its production. Endemic plants of Anatolia will be healing for Europeans.

Turkey, which is among the few countries in the world in terms of plant richness, will sell herbal medicines and raw materials to the world with the newly established factory. The factory belonging to İmmuNat Herbal İlaç A.Ş., which started production with an investment of 10 million TL in Bodrum, will bring more than 200 endemic plants to the pharmaceutical industry. Stating that their goal is to sell Anatolian plants that are about to disappear to global markets, ImmuNat Chairman Adnan Akar said, “We will produce plant extracts worth 20 million dollars annually, needed by the cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and food industries. In the first month, we received orders 5 times our annual production. We will establish our third facility with an additional investment of 40 million TL in the coming months. “We aim to export 12 million dollars in our first year,” he said.

ADDITIONAL INCOME FOR THOUSAND FARMERS

Stating that the factory, established in a closed area of 2 thousand square meters, closed a large gap in Turkey, ImmuNat Chairman of the Board Adnan Akar said, “We provided direct employment to 100 people with this facility. “If we include the support we provide to farmers, we have indirectly opened a source of income for thousands of people,” he said.

Stating that the factory is an important move in the agriculture-based industry, Akar said: “We have the capacity to process 500 tons of plants annually. We will grow our own plants and get rid of external dependence. We have invested at a level that can meet the needs of the pharmaceutical industry. Agriculture should not be thought of only with materials such as wheat and legumes. The agro-industrial model is on the rise.”
